The winner of the Sierra d’Or Critics’ Award for Fiction has been to Núria Perpinyà for The Invisible Body (La Magrana). Given that the book is a scientific, epic and literary journey through the human body, the writer has stated that “Montserrat are the lungs of Catalonia, the spiritual air of the country; the Pyrenees would be the head through which ideas rise; Lleida and Girona, the hands that embrace us and work; Tarragona has the nakedness of the Delta and the legs walk to Valencia; and the coast would be the mouth from which our language comes out, which reaches the islands and beyond, to the Odyssey of Carles Riba, which is my literary homeland.”
